Group Health Benefits Behr Iron & Metal offers medical, dental, and vision, and prescription drug benefits with single and family coverage available. Employee contributions for health benefits are pretax, which lowers your taxable income and helps stretch each dollar further. The deductibles are lower than the national average and the network of providers is extensive. The program is structured as a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), which means employees have a choice as to their medical providers. Benefit eligible employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment.

Premium is shared by the company and the employee.
Most expenses are covered at 90 to 100 percent for in-network providers. (Coordination of benefits for working spouses).
MetLife offers a comprehensive dental plan with coverage for preventative, restorative and prosthetic dental services. Coverage may be subject to an annual deductible depending upon service received.
Eye Med coverage for routine eye exams, lenses and frames, contacts, and discounts for LASIK eye surgery.
When you enroll in the Group Health Benefits program, you are automatically enrolled in the prescription drug program. Catalyst Rx offers both retail and mail order drug coverage fora co-payment based on drug designation: generic preferred brand and non-preferred brand.
Work/Life Balance
In keeping with our culture that promotes work-life balance, Behr Iron & Metal provides policies and programs that help our employees achieve the right balance between work and life outside of Behr.

Behr observes the following 10 holidays per calendar year: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.
Behr grants vacation time to all full time employees. The amount of vacation an employee earns depends on terms of employment, length of service, and date of hire.
The EAP is a professional, confidential service available to all employees to help you and your family members resolve personal problems which may affect your health, relationships or work performance. EAP counseling services are provided at no charge to you and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Bereavement leave is available to full-time employeesin the event of the death of an immediate family member for a maximum of three days paid.
Employees will receive continuation of salary while serving on jury duty.
Income Protection
Being prepared for difficult circumstances is never easy. Behr Iron & Metal offers programs that help employees prepare for life’s difficult circumstances. In the event an individual is unable to work due to an accident or serious illness, our disability benefits help provide income protection.

Financial protection for your survivors in the event of your death is important for your family's welfare. Basic Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment is provided at no cost to all benefit eligible employees.
If an employee experiences a non-work related illness or injury, Behr’s has a Short Term Disability (STD) benefit that is a self-insured plan designed to provide employees with a continuing source of income during short periods not to exceed 26 weeks per event.
Retirement Savings & Profit Sharing
It is never too early to start planning for your retirement. Behr Iron & Metal recognizes that individual planning for retirement is critical. Therefore, we offer a 401(k) program with multiple investment options to help employees to start saving and earning money towards your retirement.

- Pre-tax participation in a plan administered by Principal Financial Group, offering a variety of fund investment options. Defer 1 to 100 percent of pay up to the maximum set by IRS regulations.
- In addition, Behr offers a discretionary company match and employee are immediately eligible to participate in the retirement plan.

Tuition reimbursement is for work-related courses or a job related degree program with prior approval from the Human Resources Department. Employees must satisfactorily complete the course to be eligible for reimbursement.
